The All Night Show has a new spot!
It's called Night Train" and is hosted by Mike Marti. The show airs from 3:00-6:00 PM
on Sunday mornings. Mike hails from the 50's and 60's music scene and has collected
records and tapes from that period. He also has an interest in old blues and will on
occasion broadcast this music as well.
The first 11/2 hours of the show features an artist of band from this
period. Mike provides a biographical overview of the artist and the best selections for
his or her music. Some of the most recent featured artists include John Mayall. Bob Dylan,
Bo Diddley. Creedance Clear Water Revival and Simon and Garfunkel. Upcoming shows will
feature such artists as Ray Bryant, Fat Domino, Everely Brothers, Chuck Berry. Buddy Holly
and others.
The last half of the show concentrates on the best music of the 30 year
period starting in 1955. Music will include selections from Jazz, Rock & Roll, Folk,
Rhythm and Blues and old Blues with a sprinkling of New Age thrown toward the end of the
show. The New Age selections are carefully chosen to blend with the oldie played and give
a good lead in to Suites for Sunday Morning, the classical show that follows "Night
Train."
If you find
yourself unable to sleep Saturday night or just out of bed to raid the refrigerator, give
"Night Train" a listen. You may get hooked especially if you are 50 something
and yearn for the best music of your youth. If you have a favorite artist of this period
which you would like Mike to feature, give us a call and let us know. Our listener line is
(860) 768-5913.
