Tune in to Sunday Afternoon at the Opera this Sunday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. on WWUH, to hear a complete broadcast of Giuseppe Verdi's Aida.
Soloists include The King of Egypt, bass Plinio Clabassi; Amneris his daughter, mezzo-soprano Rita Gorr; Aida an Ethiopian slave, soprano Leontyne Price; Radames Captain of the Guards, tenor Jon Vickers; Ramfis High Priest, bass Giorgio Tozzi; The High Priestess, soprano Mietta Sighiele; The Messenger, tenor Franco Ricciardi; Amonasro King of Ethiopia, Aida’s father, baritone Robert Merrill.
The Roma Opera Theater Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by Georg Solti.
